Stress can be good for us!

Research shows that a bit of stress is good and can help us to achieve. No world records are ever broken in training but during competition when the pressure is on positive stress or ‘eustress’ can enhance performance. However, high levels of stress and the emotion of anxiety that can accompany stress is counterproductive. Once you have experienced anxiety you can become stuck in a vicious cycle and the more you think you will feel anxious the more likely it is that you will become anxious.
